Classes, Classes, Classes...

Classes, Classes, Classes... do you hang up your hooks and needles in the summer time? Why not take advantage of the summer to learn something new? Coming in June, we will be exploring a knitted tote bag on the 22nd and 29th. Socks (toe-up/2 at a time) is offered every Saturday from 12-2pm. Coming in July - get started on your Christmas Stockings and other holiday gifts and decorations! What do you want to learn?

Found on the Internet... 2 of Mitzy's patterns  that are available on Ravelry were highlighted on the Skacel Knitting blog.

These patterns were also featured during our Baby College  classes that ran from January to April. This Fall Baby College will feature crocheted items. Mitzy is busy working on plans and projects. Check back to find out what we will be working on.

What's on the hooks and needles at Moore Yarn?
Mitzy created 3 new animals - SipSip Bunny, SipSip Bear and SipSip Pig (Flo calls them the Pudgie Bunch)! They are perfect for small children and babies. Kits for the SipSips are available at the store. You will be able to make one large SipSip or 2 small ones.

She is also working a adaptation of the Seven Dwarfs pattern by Alan Dart. The original pattern is knitted flat and each dwarf is made of numerous small pieces. Mitzy took her mouse pattern, which is done in the round, and has created her own version. Each dwarf is made from scraps of other projects!

Flo has been fascinated by vintage knitted and crocheted bags, especially beaded ones. This week, she finished a vintage beaded crochet Reticule (purse) with almost 1,700 beads. The pattern is from 1900, so it required some 'translation' as she worked. Flo is planning to update the pattern, including a chart for the bead placement.

Sweater University with the Yoked, Fair Isle sweater continues. Flo has started on the sleeves and is being adventurous using Magic Loop to work both sleeves at the same time. Several members of the class have also started on their sleeves. The sweater will be completed in September.
